Restless Development Mt Kilimanjaro Challenge · 5 October 2010

Our work is delivered by young people, for young people, giving them the skills and resources to lead change.

Story

In October this year...in just 7 weeks time I am going to trek to the SUMMIT OF MT KILIMANJARO for Restless Development and young people around the world.

We at Restless Development, formally Students Partnership Worldwide, do a lot, and we'd like to do a whole lot more, that's why I'm taking on Kilimanjaro, to prove what might appear to be impossible - Katie Barry on the top of Kili - is actually possible with determination and a lot of much needed support! So please, take that beer out of my hand, and drag me out for a run, and most importantly give generously to Restless Development.

Mt Kili is going to be more than just a challenge for me, possibly more like certain death. And that's why I need your help! The team of 16 is raising funds for young people across the world to have access to education, support and opportunities to develop their own lives, communities & countries. My personal goal is £5,000 and would really appreciate your support!!!

Restless Development believes that young people are the solution. We are the largest, most energetic group of people in the world. Over 50% of the world's population is under 25! We channel the indisputably positive power of young people to bring about real progress. We train, educate, support and inspire young people to lead development in their countries and communities.

Each week, we work with over 400,000 young people. Together they reach over 1 million people each year. We do this at a cost of $15 per young person per year.

We help government ministries and major aid agencies put youth on the agenda, to work effectively with and for young people. Check out our Youth Participation Guidelines for Donors and Policy Makers at http://www.restlessdevelopment.org/

We provide technical expertise and support to a network of more than 60 youth-led organisations, helping more than 100,000 young people in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

I'll do all the hard work; train for and complete this challenge, but I really need your help to make a difference to my charity.
