When the fundraising team approached me to take part in their Strictly 2022 fundraising event I was honoured (and very nervous!) to be asked. Upon visiting The Seashell Trust and meeting not only the children and young adults, but also the staff and volunteers who work there, you quickly realise what a very special place this is. Despite my complete lack of dancing experience (does grade 1 ballet count??!!!??) I am determined to help raise much needed funds, awareness and support for this truly inspirational and life changing cause.

The Seashell Trust is dedicated to providing a creative, happy, and safe environment for children and young people with complex learning disabilities and additional communication needs. 

Seashell offer a holistic approach to provide a safe and supported environment. They focus on the extended family that cares for each one of their students and residents. They understand the difference that can be made to all those connected lives. That is why they strive to include the whole family and the wider community in the life experience of the children and young people.

Let's just hope that my dancing skills do them justice!  Kate x
