Sponsored Litter Pick and Christmas Cards · 1 January 2019

A men’s shed is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where he feels at home and pursues practical interests with a high degree of autonomy. A men’s shed offers members a place to work on projects at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. A shed’s activities usually involve making or mending in wood (eg carpentry, joinery, turning, carving, whittling, marquetry, furniture renovation) but may include metalworking (milling, sheet metal, welding etc) bike repair, gardening, electronics, tool renovation, boat renovation, model engineering (model railways, planes) and even building a car! Reclamation, reuse and restoration will feature strongly – and some say that is true of the men too! Although sheds mostly attract older men, some have included men of any age, women and young people. Whichever activities are pursued the essence of a shed is not a building, which some don’t have, but the network of relationships between the members.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. We are raising funds for the fantastic Church Crookham and Fleet Mens Shed. Who are making a wonderful new Mud Kitchen for the children I care for. Providing exciting learning opportunities! Please help us give back to them by raising money towards their own Shed, being able to get involved in more community Projects.

Over 2 days I will be taking the children I care for out to Litter Pick in the local community. Educating them on the importance of disposing of our rubbish properly and giving back to the community we spend so much time in. The date of the litter pick is to be confirmed, but will be pre Christmas and I will post it here!
