Bupa Great South Run 2009 · 25 October 2009 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A few months ago House of Fraser, for whom I work, committed to raising one million pounds for the Royal Marsden Cancer campaign. RMCC are raising funds to build a cancer ward for teenagers, who are so often left stuck between a ward full of adults or kids, neither place suitable for their treatment. Cancer touches everyone of us and recently my immediate family too.
I am not a runner, I have dabbled in social run/walking in my time, but as the years creep on and it becomes harder to keep trim, I have recognised that running is the answer. So, for me, this seemed an ideal opportunity to set myself a personal challenge and raise money for a very worthy cause. Until today, the furthest I had run was a few miles. The picture attached is after climbing Scarfell Pike in the lakes. This year I climbed Ben Nevis which was definitely the hardest challenge to date. I am no 3 peak challenger and know that running 10 miles will also, no doubt have me laid out on the grass afterwards!!!
