Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, works in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care and funds research that could help to reduce the numbers of babies dying and families devastated by this tragedy.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My family and friends have agreed to walk 15 miles with me from Basildon Hospital to Southend on Sea to raise money for Sands, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity, on 28th July 2019.

15 babies die before, during or shortly after birth every day in the UK. Sands have launched #challenge15 to highlight this and to raise £15,000 to help support bereaved families, raise awareness and help reduce the number of baby deaths in the UK.

I am raising funds in the name of my son Riley to go towards the improvements to the facilities and services provided to bereaved parents by Sands in Essex and across the UK.

29th July 2019 was Riley's due date, and we are remembering him through this fundraising event taking place the day before. My lovely waking companions are listed below - if you are friends or family of any of these lovely people please feel free to use this page to donate:

Laura, Sue, Linda, Jodie H, Rosie & Jayne, Vicky, Karelia & Bobbie, Stevie, Hannah, Niki, Helen D, Kerry L, Katie, Karen, Moira, Terri and Jodie R.

Other fundraising efforts will be made until we reach our ultimate target - but wanted to do something on his due date first
