Those of you who know me well will know about my Dad's (slightly bizarre, but very addictive and catching) love of vintage tractors. Every year the Suffolk and Norfolk branch of the David Brown Tractor Club hold a Pink Ladies Tractor Road Run in aid of Cancer Research's Breast Cancer Appeal. Strictly women drivers only, and everyone dresses up and decorates their tractors. They've raised £275,000 since 2004.
Everyone knows someone affected by cancer, either themselves or someone close to them.
My mum was a Pink Lady, and absolutely loved it. When I was 16 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and beat it. In August 2010 we were told her cancer had returned.
Two years ago at the end of this May I lost my beautiful mum.
Two months later the Pink Ladies dedicated the annual run to her, and I took part. It was one of the most crazy, emotional and fun experiences of my life.
So I'm doing it again this year. It's their tenth anniversary run, and this year is dedicated to Rachel Lane. Anyone who wants to come and watch/support/have a lovely picnic is more than welcome to. More information can be found at:
