The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A friend and close colleague suffered the death of her eldest daughter earlier this month.  Her daughter took her own life.  She was autistic.  She wrote in a note at the end, "As an autistic I long for a world where autistic people can exist happily, but I am not sure this can ever happen.  The world is not designed for people like me".

My colleague has asked that in supporting her through this time we find ways to support charities that matter to her and her family. As well as providing support to Autistic people and their families, the National Autistic Society also campaigns for greater understanding of Autism, which may one day lead to a better world for people suffering from Autism and Aspergers.

I'd be really grateful for any contribution you can make to help me support my friend to cherish the memory of her wonderful daughter; and to take whatever steps you can to make this a society that embraces difference and values the contribution diversity makes to our world.
