Story
Back in January, I did a Marathon in a Month on my Cross-Trainer to raise money for the Yemen Emergency Appeal. To those who run a 10k for fun, 26.2 miles in 31 days possibly doesn't sound like a big deal, but I am a lifelong exercise-averse bookworm who counts a brisk walk around Sainsburys as a workout. Those who knew me well were astounded - and very very kind. Thanks to the generosity of my friends I raised nearly £800 for this important cause and astonished my self by actually enjoying the exercise!
Sadly since then, the situation in Yemen has worsened so I want to do something else to raise awareness and to help people affected by this disaster. I have set myself a new and bigger challenge - 100 miles before Christmas, which is a little over 100 days away.
So please, if you have a bob or two to spare, chuck it in the Just Giving cap. If you are the praying type, pray for the people of Yemen. And if you enjoy seeing a middle-aged couch potato making a fool of herself, follow my updates and cheer me on...
