Cheshire 12 hour overnight swim · 25 June 2022

For over 35 years, St Luke’s has been providing free of charge specialist palliative care and support for people in mid & south Cheshire living with life limiting illnesses. Our support begins from the moment someone is diagnosed, through to palliative care and end of life care.

Story

I’m swimming on 25th June overnight in a 12 hour duration  lake swim challenge to raise money for 2 charities close to me, both of which I volunteer my time for: I help provide Art therapy  at St Luke’s daycare centre once a week:  I also volunteer  to test eyes at VCHP( vision care for homeless people) in Manchester. This charity provides eye care services and free spectacles to vulnerable people who often don’t have access to benefits .

Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care to helping car sets and bereaved families.
