Every year in the UK, hospices provide vital care to 200,000 people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses, as well as providing support for many of their loved ones. From managing someone's pain, to looking after their emotional, spiritual and social needs, hospice care supports the whole person, helping them to live their life to the full.

We will probably all have known, or will know, someone who could benefit from hospice care.

I'm supporting Hospice UK to Open Up Hospice care because, there are still 100,000 people missing out on this invaluable service. It is critical that we extend the reach of hospice care and make it available for more people in more settings and touch more lives.

So I'm tackling the great Prudential Ride London on 29th July. A 100 mile bike ride from London, into Surrey, over a couple of hills, and back again. 

For training I'm doing everything I can with the limited time I have: boosting up my commute to work, squeezing in longer rides to get used to the saddle, and sweating my way through spin classes.

It's going to be a challenge! Your donations will be a huge carrot on a stick to spur me on round the course and keep me peddling 'til the end.  Thank you!
