If you know me, you will either of had the privilege of knowing Helen personally or heard me harping on about her over the years.

At the end of October I shall be running the Great South Run in Portsmouth in support of he Chris Lucas Trust who fund research and treatment for the kind of cancer Helen had, Rhabdomyosarcoma. 

Helen was diagnosed with this rare eye cancer when she was 18, she fought long and hard against the cancer through chemo and radio therapy and even removal of her eye to try and beat the aggressive disease. She outlived all of the timeframes predicted by doctors but on her 21st birthday, she passed away at home.

More than 5 years later she is still missed dreadfully but her bravery and courage will never be forgotten. Each year I raise money for the Chris Lucas Trust but normally via more pleasurable activities i.e. baking sales or raffles. Since having Ella at the beginning of this year I decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, loose weight whilst working towards the next fundraising oppurtunity (turns out baking would be much more rewarding and enjoyable).  I appreciate everyone is skint and times are tough but I would be so very grateful if you could sponsor me any amount you can afford so that we can raise more money in honour of Helen.
