Kate and Clare - Plank every day in March!

March Plankathon! Β· 1 March 2022
I am currently living with incurable Secondary Breast Cancer which is residing in my spine and pelvis. I am still working full time as a primary school teacher and have 2 girls, Ruby (aged 10) and Nancy (aged 8), and husband, Mark, who owns The Barking Dog pub in Urmston, Manchester. Life is busy, and we exist in a cycle of scans, results and treatments. My Headteacher, Clare, has kindly agreed to do the plank challenge with me so we can give each other a bit of (much needed) moral support!!! Thank you, Kate x
Secondary breast cancer is breast cancer which has spread from the breast to other parts of the body. Although secondary breast cancer can be treated, there is no cure. Unlike those with primary breast cancer, there is no end of treatment, there is no remission. Itβs estimated that 35,000 people are currently living with secondary breast cancer in the UK yet only 7% of the National funding for cancer goes towards this incurable disease. Make 2nds Count aim to address this imbalance.
