Story
I have been part of TRC for 2 and a half years. I work alongside many amazing women who are dedicated to supporting women and girls that have experienced rape and sexual violence at any point of their lives. TRC has a counselling service, offering service users up to 26 free sessions of trauma counselling. They also have free, confidential and non-judgemental Helpline, Email and Live Chat services. These services provide a safe space for women to seek support and information, helping them feel less alone after experiencing any form of rape or sexual violence. TRC also run various groups and drop-ins across greater Manchester, including an art group and a drop-in for Manchester University students.
The impact of TRC's work on service users is immeasurable and in order to spread awareness of and fund the amazing work TRC do, they are holding a Spinathon. All money raised goes toward funding the services.
While helping organise this event, I will also be taking part. To set myself a bit of a challenge, I am going to be doing 3 sessions - this is 2 hours and 15 minutes of spinning... so pretty gross, by my standards anyway.
With all of this, any donations in recognition of my efforts would mean the world to me! It also will be going to an incredibly worthwhile cause.
For anyone who wants to take part in the Spinathon with me, please email volunteer.admin@traffordrapecrisis.com
