Story
In March 2022 I am running the Cardiff half marathon to raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford.
As most of you know, I am incredibly proud to be part of the team there in my role as an Occupational Therapist.
The care I have witnessed my colleagues deliver over the past few years has been inspiring and second to none. Despite having to adapt to new ways of working throughout the pandemic, they have continued to demonstrate exceptional levels of compassion, dignity and respect towards all the individuals that have come through the doors.
I have been able to view this care from a different perspective too, as last year a local friend - Julia was admitted to the hospice.
Running has given me the headspace to think about Julia, her family and friends & I know she will be on my mind during the big run in March.
Those of you that know me well will be aware that there’s nothing I like more than sitting by a roaring pub fire, supping a pint of real ale. You can appreciate then that training to run 13+ miles in the cold, rain, snow and dark is quite a big challenge for me!
St Michael’s hospice is a charity and therefore relies on donations in order to continue to provide the excellent services that it does free of charge, to all those that require them.
I would be so pleased with any money you feel you can donate to this cause. Love and gratitude, Kate xx
