Story

I was lucky enough to be selected to ride in the BHS Charity race at Newbury last year and although I didn't manage to make it into the winner's enclosure, I had an absolutely fantastic and truly memorable day, as did the huge gang of friends and family who came along to support.  I was delighted to raise lots of money for the Changing Lives Through Horses campaign too.  I loved it so much I was very keen to do it again, and it did seem a shame to only use those special nylon breeches just the once!  I was fortunate to be placed on this year's Reserve List and have just had the call up (speedy recovery Maria, really hope you get to do it next year).

My need for speed hasn't reduced with age....and I have continued to ride out for a couple of local trainers since Newbury last year.  I just love the exhilaration and riding challenge you get from working a fit thoroughbred on the gallops, it's quite a different feel from the riding I normally do, even on my eventer.  Although I haven't got much time to prepare and raise the monies for the race in November, I shall be doing my utmost to be fit enough and ready in all respects, and I very much hope that lots of people will back me in my quest and donate to the BHS's 'Second Chance' appeal accordingly (https://www.bhs.org.uk/support-us/our-campaigns/second-chance/).
