We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year with my 9 years old son, Michael. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring us - it's quick, easy and totally secure. I have run 3 times before and I know how amazing experience it is. The fact, you are doing something to help others.

I have bursting bubbles in my lungs called precordial catch syndrome. It is not life threat but when they burst, it feels like I am having a heart attack. For this reason, I am struggling to do any cardio exercise like running, so to run with my lungs, it's a challenge already as it is. Not mentioning 5k. I decided to train my lungs, so I actually CAN jog, at least and my personal challenge is not to stop before finish line.

My son, Michael, is very sporty and very active and it's him who encourage me to sign for this run. And if run, why not for a reason?

Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. We can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring us, we will beat cancer sooner.
