Having had their worst fears confirmed that their baby boys' heartbeat had stopped, at 38 weeks gestation; I helplessly stood by and watched my best friend Lisa endure 8 days of physical and emotional pain whilst waiting for Joshua to be born.

The Staff at Pinderfields Hospital were wonderful and placed Lisa in a quiet room away from other new parents. However, having no mobile signal to call family/friends for moral support/comfort and no TV to help take her mind off the trauma Lisa quickly felt very isolated.

Pinderfields also lacked the option of a cold cot, a refrigerated cot which allows parents to keep their baby with them for the duration of their stay after delivery.

Parents want to spend as much time with their babies as they can before they go home. Evidence has shown that the longer Parents spend with their babies and the more memories they create, helps them going forwards with the grieving process.

Please help us to ease the pain of future Parents of still born babies by improving the services at Pinderfields Hospital.
