Nerve Tumours UK provides support and information, as well as campaigns and raises awareness on behalf of over 26,500 people in the UK who have NF, the group name for Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), NF2-related-Schwannomatosis (NF2) and Schwannomatosis (SWN).

Story

I’m running the London Marathon on April 21st 2024 and I’m raising money to support a small charity called Nerve Tumours UK.

They are a charity close to my heart, providing crucial medical and non-medical support to those who are living with neuro genetic conditions such as NF1, NF2 and Schwannomatosis.

My daughter,  Beth was diagnosed with NF1 when she was 4 years old  and whilst we are incredibly lucky that Beth has a very mild form of the condition, I’d like to show my continued support for this charity and help them raise funds so they can continue their great work

Currently there are 25,000 people in the UK diagnosed with NF1 and many displaying symptoms of varying severity. These can include benign growths on the skin, eyesight problems, and learning difficulties, so any funds raised for this charity contribute hugely to the support they give to those living with these unpredictable conditions.

Training is going well so far and I’m doing my best to remain injury-free so I can get around the course in one piece. I doubt I’ll improve on my time from 2016 but I’ll give it a good go!
