At SurvivorsUK we know sexual abuse has a profound impact on those who experience it and can deeply affect mental health and relationships. But we are here to help sexually abused male and non-binary people, and their family, no matter when the abuse happened. We're here to support, challenge, build

Story

SurvivorsUK helps men who’ve been raped, sexually abused or assaulted. Every year in the UK, around 12,000 men are raped and 76,000 sexually abused or assaulted. It isn’t easy for men to talk about what’s happened to them: only 4% will speak about it. Of the few who do, it takes an average of 26 years to do so. SurvivorsUK wants to challenge stereotypes and taboos that prevent men speaking about what’s happened to them. Our counselling, helpline and support services are here to help men deal with the devastating impact of rape and sexual abuse.

I work for SurvivorsUK because I care deeply and passionately about male survivors having a voice to speak about their experiences and to be able to forge a  positive path into a future which is their own. So I will be silent for 26 hours in solidarity with men who are silenced by social taboos and norms and I will walk a walk which is taking us into a future of possibility and hope.
