We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Here we go again!

For those of you that know me will remember I took on the London Marathon in 2018 in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, raising over £8,000 thanks to you lovely people! Not satisfied with this, I am now taking it one step further to complete the London Classics challenge (London Marathon, RideLondon 100, Swim Serpentine). Why? In memory of my dearly missed best friend, Helen Shingler. And I'm a little barmy.

Helen tragically passed away in June 2017 aged just 25 after a stoic and frankly, inspiring battle against cancer 4 times in her life. Helen was empathetic, brave and quite simply one of the most incredible people I ever met. The Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Marsden kept her comfortable through grueling rounds of chemotherapy, as well as treated her with dignity right up until her passing. Helen supported many charities in her life, but I was always so impressed with the incredible care she received on the TCT unit that I want to give back to this wonderful charity.

In August 2019, myself and my fiance Lewis will be cycling 100 miles through London and Surrey in the Prudential Ride London 100 (cue 2 very sore bums) and a month later, I will be completing Swim Serpentine - a 2 mile open water swim in the Serpentine river (which apparently tastes like geese...). This will complete my London Classics challenge....hopefully!

Thank you for all the donations so far and your ongoing support in Helen's memory x
