Story

Yes, you read that right - I’m running the London Marathon. Well I’m going to give it my best shot at least! Those that know me know that I’m not exactly a natural marathon runner. It’s going to be a slog - and there'll be lots of cold winter weeks running laps of the Bristol Downs.

What’s motivating me is that I’m running for the Grenfell Foundation - to raise funds and awareness for the survivors and bereaved families of the Grenfell Tower Fire and their ongoing campaign for justice and change.

Working alongside some of the families affected by Grenfell, with Grenfell United, is one of most important things I've ever done. I saw firsthand their determination for everyone to live in a safe home and for no one to ever go through what they went through. And I saw just how important justice is for everyone who lost loved ones, everyone who lived through the horror of that night and for every child who is growing up waiting to see if there will be consequences for what happened to their community.

It's been over 5 years since the fire - but 2023 is one of the most important years on the journey for justice and change. The Grenfell Inquiry has finished its hearings and will soon publish its findings, after which the Police will decide whether or not they will press charges for what happened. Now is the time we need to stand by Grenfell campaigners and show we remain that determined along with them for truth, justice and change.

So please chip in what you can to support me and the other runners running for the Grenfell Foundation. Thank you!

The Grenfell Foundation is a charity that was set up at the request of some survivors and bereaved families. They provide independent support and advocacy for the former residents of Grenfell Tower and the bereaved families and dependents. And they help projects that provide support to those affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy for the long-term, as well as to initiatives that support awareness of what happened and change to ensure nothing similar happens again.

I’ve seen firsthand the difference Grenfell Foundation is making, and I’ll be so proud to run alongside the other Grenfell Foundation runners for this important cause. Thank you for your support!
