Many of you will know I hate exercise, it is tedious and tiring.  But I also like a challenge, and so that I don't back out on it I thought I would do it for an incredibly good cause.  

Last year i was meant to run a half marathon.  I had a lot of life changing events in quick succession meaning i had to defer my place and it was very clear running was not for me, so instead I am back with a new challenge: open water swimming. 

Early in 2022 my mum went for a routine mammogram of which they found very early breast cancer.  She was incredibly lucky in that the mammogram caught it early and her local breast cancer team were able to operate and remove the cancerous cells.  Much of the information she received during this time that explained her condition, the treatment she received and what she could expect came from Breast Cancer Now.  

Breast Cancer Now is the leading breast cancer charity in the UK and they work across the full spectrum of breast cancer.  I also know the fantastic work they do first hand because I previously worked for them.  They lead in breast cancer research and offer a huge amount of services to help women and men living with and beyond cancer.
