This year is the Year of the Rabbit, and it’s my Chinese Zodiac Year. In Chinese culture, we call it “本命年” (Ben Ming Nian). According to Taoism, each year has a certain god called Tai Sui (太岁) who is in
charge of the world. People meeting their Ben Ming Nian would conflict with the Tai Sui – Fan Tai Sui (犯太岁). They could face unexpected challenges, obstacles, bad lucks, and life may fluctuate a lot.  However, on Chinese New Year’s Day I have decided not to fall into that, and set myself 3 goals for this Ben Ming Nian. One of the most challenging one is to run a full Marathon at the age of 48, not just a marathon, but Berlin Marathon in Sep this year! 

I started running about 3 years ago. So far, I have done 3 half marathons and run nearly 2,003km. Each year, I set myself a challenging run for a charity. This year, I chose Water Aid. 1 in 10 people don’t have clean water, and climate change is making it worse. Right now, millions of children around the world don’t have clean water to drink, whilst clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene are basic human rights. They should be a normal part of daily life for everyone, everywhere. WaterAid is an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Your kind donation would help WaterAid dig a well or install a tap in a community, you’re changing the lives of children for the better. 

今年是兔年，也是我的本命年。俗话说，本命年犯太岁，太岁当头坐，无喜必有祸。这一年会遇到很多“坎儿”，不顺之事较多，运势起伏较大。我，就偏偏想在这个“犯太岁”的一年做点什么。于是，给自己定了三个目标。这其中，最大的挑战就是48岁第一次挑战全马，而且是今年9月的柏林马拉松！

大概3年之前开始跑步，到今天已经跑了3个半马，跑量达到2,003公里。每年我都会选一个慈善机构跑慈善跑。今年，我选了WaterAid。目前，世界各地有数百万儿童没有干净的水喝，而干净的水、像样的厕所和良好的卫生习惯是基本人权。它们应该成为世界各地每个人日常生活的一部分。
