Story
Working in NHS mental health services is hard. Having to use these services is harder. I'm walking 15km along with some wonderful friends on 10th June at Glynde Estate, Lewes to help raise money to support inpatient services in Sussex.
As many of you know, I've worked as a carer in inpatient hospitals in Sussex on and off for a couple of years now. Heads On and the other participating charities help provide things like art supplies and resources for gardening projects to these hospitals. It is so important for inpatient services to be warm and welcoming and to be able to provide service users with ways to help keep themselves calm.
Charities like Heads On fill the gaps where the NHS is too stretched to go. I know most of us are going through particularly challenging financial times at the moment however, if you have the spare income for buying a couple of coffees this week, I'd really appreciate you donating a couple of pounds to this cause instead.
Everyone deserves to be cared for in a way that goes beyond the clinical bare minimum.
