I've had an incredibly expensive and traumatic 10 months due to the unexpected back-to-back deaths of my 2 cats at the end of last year, Hercules and Nemo, which cost thousands in vet bills. I got 2 kittens at the start of this year to bring joy back into our lives and a few weeks after getting Percy he was diagnosed with an almost-fatal disease which cost more thousands and took months to cure.
So i feel pretty passionate about looking after cats and kittens, and can totally empathise with the heartbreak and costs incurred.
I've been following a lot of Rescue pages and they are utterly overwhelmed by the number of kittens being surrendered and brought in on a constant and daily basis. They're experiencing huge volumes, in part due to the number of unneutered house cats and strays as well as the pet boom during lockdown. These rescues are incurring huge bills to feed, house and vaccinate the kittens before they then need to pay for treating any health conditions.
Every little helps, so your help and support is greatly appreciated.
Yorkshire Cat Rescue's mission is to do the right thing for every cat that comes into their care. They help cats in need have a good life, and inspire everyone to treat them with the compassion and respect they deserve. They actively work to reduce the number of cats and kittens being euthanised or entering the animal welfare system.
