Story

Thank you for visiting my just giving page...

I have decided to try and attempt 2 half marathons in 2013, the Edinburgh Half on Sunday 26 May and the Great North Run on Sunday 15 September....it is time I pushed myself once more and at the same time hopefully raise some money for Bright Northumbria.

Why did I choose Bright?...I wanted to select a North East charity that supported a wide range of services that helped a wide range of people and Bright work to ensure that their patients have the best experience possible in their hospitals and from the community services that they provide. This may be providing a claiming oasis for relatives of people nearing the end of their life, an award winning healing arts programme or to help purchase the latest high tech equipment to keep patient care at the leading edge of technology.

Bright support a wide range of initiatives which improve the patient environment, invest in research that benefits patients and fund specialist training for staff.

Keeping it Mum!!....My Mum Heather (Carr) is also a Public Governor for Whitley Bay, part of the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and works hard on a voluntary basis being a 'voice' for patients, doctors and nurses. Those of you who know her appreciate how much she does to support the good work of the Trust & how much she enjoys it so I wanted to support my Mum too...

I know you have all been very generous before sponsoring my 2011 run so please do not feel obliged but it you would like to donate something....Thank you

Kathryn x
