Help Camp Bovey shine for future campers, staff and families!

Camp Bovey has been an important part of the Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis community for more than 70 years, and your past support (both financial and through your volunteerism) has been critical to sustaining this essential community resource. To ensure the future of Camp Bovey, we need your help. 

This Restoration Campaign will allow for major improvements to Camp Bovey's main lodge and shower house, and adding to a campership fund!  Please see photo gallery for more details.

Camp programming has been modified over the past two summers, due to COVID safety.  This created an opportunity for families, already connected with East Side programs, to attend camp together. This quickly proved to be timely and essential programming that fulfilled our camp mission: to provide fun and encouraging outdoor experiences that ignite curiosity, create connections, and grow confidence. 

This restoration campaign also has community support, from local businesses, civic groups and individuals. Please forward, this opportunity to give, to others you know that have been connected to Camp.

Excerpts from “When I Am Among the Trees” by poet Mary Oliver, [slightly edited by me!]

When I am among the trees, especially the [red pine, white pine and poplar, growing up from the sand], they give off such hints of gladness. I would almost say that they save me, and daily. 

Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, “Stay awhile.”  The light flows from their branches. 

And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say, “and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine.”
