Britain v Cancer Trek Nepal 2017 · 1 April 2017

The charity raises funds to buy cancer-related equipment for local hospitals. Since 1972 it has raised in excess of £4m to build and equip St John's Hospice (now run independently) and over £8m for equipment for the local NHS trusts. DCDT is run entirely by volunteers - there are no paid staff.

Story

I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in May 2015. After surgery. Chemo and radiotherapy I am now in remission. Radiotherapy is only available in Sheffield which is a long journey to undertake everyday for 15-30 days when you are already feeling tired. A radiotherapy scanner in Doncaster will make such a difference to the lives of all those going through treatment. We need to raise 1million pounds so every penny you donate will be a huge help toward our goal.
