Hospice care eases the physical and emotional pain of death and dying. Letting people focus on living, right until the end. But too many people miss out on this essential care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.

Story

Hello everyone

On 30th September I did ‘run’ my first half marathon. It went ok... I ran it all, didn't need a loo break and am still here to tell the tale. I came 23,178th out of 50,000 which, as someone commented, is fantastic...ish.

I'm afraid I can't post a picture of me finishing in style because I was sprinting so fast over the last mile (sheer relief) that the children missed me completely.

I was running for Help the Hospices and a huge thank you to all those who have already sponsored me on- and off-line. I am still trying to reach my target. Hospices are the kinds of places that we don’t think about until we need them…and then we wish we’d thought about them before. So there is still a chance to support them as this website is open for a few more weeks.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help the Hospices will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

And btw - I am now certain that I will never be doing this again!
