Thank you for visiting my sponsorship page.
You might remember, last year to mark my big 4-0, I signed up to a charity place in the LONDON MARATHON and trained to complete it twice (for 11 weeks first time and 6 the next).
On 3 October 2021 I hope to finally make it a reality to actually run the London Marathon.
It is something I have always wanted to do. I know it will be a huge amount of training, and take everything I have got on the day to complete, but I am determined.
Places for this iconic race are extremely hard to come by but I am lucky enough to have a charity place for the charity I used to work for; Action Medical Research.
If you don't know about
Action Medical Research, having worked for them, I can assure you that they are a fantastic charity. They are funding the best scientists/doctors to find cures and treatments for diseases and conditions for sick babies and children.
A large amount of their focus is on preventing premature birth and the complications which go with that, and learning more about pre-eclampsia which has affected many of my friends.
One of the areas of their work I have always been really passionate about is their work to find cures for some of the really rare diseases which tragically take away a families' treasured children. There are quite often no dedicated charities for these diseases as they are SO rare but that only makes it more hopeless and tragic for the families.
I've met some of the researchers Action Medical Research have funded and they literally give their lives trying to find cures and treatments to ease this suffering for our children and theirs to come. So I can tell you that a donation to Action Medical Research is a great investment.
If you would have bought me drink or given me a card or gift, please consider sponsoring me generously instead!
Here is a message from Action Medical Research:
