After talking about the Mongolian Rally for a couple of years Olie, my boyfriend, and I have finally entered. We will be driving to Mongolia from the UK and back again in our gold Citroen Saxo - Nugget!
We will be raising money for Animal Helpline a charity local to us that rescues unwanted dogs and rehomes them. They are a small independent rescue centre that is funded completely on donations and run by volunteers. We have chosen this charity as sadly in November my dog Alfie (who is featured in the picture) past away unexpectedly and although I don't feel ready to take on another dog I would like to help other dogs find loving new homes which they deserve. Hopefully, in the future I will be able to rehome one. The majority of dogs come from nearby pounds, they are picked up as strays by council wardens and taken to kennel facilities where they wait for 7 days to be reclaimed, but sadly in many cases, this does not happen. When a dogs week is up and if no owner has stepped forward, they will be put to sleep. This is where animal helpline steps in and on the dogs 7th day they will collect them and give them a second chance at life. Many dogs come to this charity in poor condition from their time straying or pervious owners, they aim to treat mental and physical scars before helping them find a forever home.

Please donate what you can any amount is greatly appreciated it all goes to help these unwanted dogs.  The Mongol Rally thunders 10,000 miles across the mountains, desert and steppe of Europe and Asia.
