After talking about the Mongolian Rally for a couple of years Olie, my boyfriend, and I have finally entered. We will be driving to Mongolia from the UK and back again in our gold Citroen Saxo - Nugget! 

Cool Earth is the official charity of the Mongolian Rally, we are lucky it's such an amazing charity that we both believe in! So what does cool earth do?  They save at-risk rainforests and shield millions of acres of neighbouring forest. They put local people back in control, giving them the resources they need to keep the forest intact. They never buy land, Instead help local communities take legal control of their forest. Focusing on rainforests most at risk and which would other wise be destroyed within the next 18 months.

It only costs just £60 to keep an acre of rainforest standing! 

-150 acres of rainforest are cleared every minute 

-Rainforests are home to 350 million people and the livelihoods of 1.6 billion people depend on the rainforest.

-Rainforests only cover 6% of the world 's land surface but contain more than 2/3 of its biodiversity, around 6 million species.

- clearing an acre of the rainforest releases 260 tonnes of CO2.
