Story
‘Does your dad still recognise you?’ is a frequently asked question. One that over time I have learnt how to answer without becoming a bundle of emotions. Dementia has taken my darling dad, time and time again, mum, our family, his friends and I are on a never ending emotional rollercoaster.
My dad was an amazing cyclist amongst other wonderful things, he cycled this route a few times and it’s only now that I’m older I really appreciate what he achieved and wish I could be doing this alongside him. My thoughtful husband kindly took accessories from my dads bike and attached it all onto mine. Dad will be with me every push of the pedal.
Luckily, my brilliant job share and friend Sarah Turner decided to help me get through it, Team Sapphire Class!!!!
