For over 70 years the Percy Hedley Foundation has delivered over 30million hours of care, education and support to tens of thousands of disabled people across the North East. With your support we will transform lives and offer every opportunity possible to live their lives to the full.

Story

Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to visit my page.

My profile picture was taken on a rare sunny day in Newcastle on the way to a beer garden.  It remains the fastest I've moved all year.

Despite a lifelong aversion to running, I've decided to take on the 13.1 miles of the Great North Run for charity.  I'm hoping that the burden of guilt I'll have accrued in sponsorship will keep me plodding along, and lift my spirits when the inevitable takes place and I get overtaken by a man dressed as an 8 foot plastic tree (as happened in 2009).

I'm raising money for a fantastic North East charity called the Percy Hedley Foundation.  It helps adults and children with disabilities lead full and active lives.  They also have a top wheelchair football team!

Any support you can offer will make a huge difference.  Thank you! xxx Katie xxx
