Katie's skydive challenge 2013

Katie's skydive challenge 2013 · 17 August 2013
Hi, thanks for visiting my page.
On the 31st August (previously 17th) I’ll be taking on the challenge of a tandem sky dive for charity. The sky dive is the highest in the world without oxygen at 15,000ft above sea level (3 miles)!! I’ve always wanted to jump out of an aeroplane so what better way to raise money for a great cause and fulfil an ambition at the same time.
The charity I’ve chosen to support is North Devon Against Domestic Abuse (formerly known as North Devon Women’s Aid). The charity has personal significance for my family and provides a lifeline for victims of domestic abuse, something my sister once needed and who now works for the organisation. I would be delighted and extremely grateful if you would donate, no amount is too small.
Many thanks, Katie

NDADA was born in 1975 and is a registered charity. Its free service covers Northern Devon, i.e. North Devon and Torridge, and continues to:
Provide temporary refuge to women and children who have suffered Domestic Abuse and also to offer support and aftercare to any woman who has left Refuge.
Offer Outreach support to women and men who wish to remain in their own homes or are unable to come into Refuge. They will work through a variety of issues, which may include, housing problems, financial concerns, safety issues, emotional difficulties, worries about children and many more.
Encourage service users to determine their own futures and to help them achieve this.
Recognise and care for the emotional and educational needs of the children involved.
Educate and inform the public, the media, Police, Courts, Social services and other partners and organisations with respect to domestic abuse.
Run an extremely successful educational programme called Pattern Changing.
We are now very focused in supporting the family in a more holistic approach by keeping families safe and relationships healthy.
ANYONE can experience Domestic Abuse - it can occur regardless of ethnicity, religion, class, gender, age, sexuality, disability or lifestyle. It can also occur in a range of relationships including heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender. NDADA supports all sections of our community with a range of services for women and children, men and young people.
