Edwards Big Hair Cut and 100 mile walk

Edwards big hair cut and 100 mile walk · 14 March 2019
Three years ago Ed was 5 years old. He had his first ‘big boy hair cut’ with clippers and looked very grown up without his trademark ‘redhead mop’. Three days afterwards he said “Mummy, I want to grow my hair to make the sick children better.” A few weeks earlier I had been explaining to my boys about how some people grow their hair and donate it to charity. The charity then make it into wigs for sick kids who have to take certain medicines that causes them to loose their own hair.
Ever since he has been growing his own locks and finally, three years later and 8 years old, it’s long enough! As Ed is the sort of boy who likes a challenge, as well as having his hair cut and donating it, he is going walk with his family from Gravesend, Kent to Chichester, West Sussex later this year. This is approximately 100 miles and a big challenge!
If you could support Ed by donating, the money goes straight to the charity to help fund the making of the wigs. It cost roughly £400 per wig so Ed would like to raise enough to pay for one wig and every penny is gratefully received by the charity and will make such a difference the children that they help for free.
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people up to the age of 24 that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. We receive no formal funding. Please help to raise money for us so that we can help more families.
