We build thriving gardens in spinal centres to nurture lives after spinal injury

Story

I was one of the lucky few to get a ballot place in the 2020 London Marathon and will be proud to represent the Horatio’s Garden Charity on April 26th. In Feb 2019 a family friend, Mark Whitley, suffered significant life changing injuries. He was transferred to Stoke Mandeville Spinal Unit, and has been there since. The Horatio’s Garden at Stoke Mandeville gave the whole family a place to spend time together away from hospital wards. It created an environment where Mark could welcome visitors but not feel like a patient. This made a huge difference to Mark & his family, helping them through a horrific period and adjust to their new reality. Any funds raised will mean the charity can support the current 6 gardens nationally, build more and continue to make a massive difference in peoples lives.
