Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please see below information in relation to my challenge and my chosen charity!
THE CHALLENGE - In June 2019 I joined a running club. Since then I have found a new motivation both physically and mentally. I have been pushing myself each time I run, achieving new personal bests at both 5k and 10k distances. However, next year I’m ready to push myself even more. I have set myself a challenge to run at least 50 miles (80.5k) every month, for the entirety of 2020. That means at least 600 miles total!
THE CHARITY - In 2004 my cousin Rachael suffered a brain haemorrhage and passed away just age 24. It was requested that donations were to be made to the intensive care unit at Medway hospital where she passed away, rather than flowers to be sent to her funeral. As money continued to be raised by various raising methods it was decided to seek charity status, and Rachael’s ICU Fund was officially registered in August 2005. The aims of the charity are as follows: -
1) To raise money to purchase items for the Intensive Care Unit at Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham, Kent. The items that are bought are to make the stay as comfortable as possible for patients, visitors and relatives at what is usually a very stressful time.
2) To provide information to the general public in order to promote organ donor awareness. Donor awareness sessions are held to provide information and answer any questions the general public may have. There are still a lot of myths and misunderstanding around the subject, and the aim is to help people understand the truth - whatever their final decision about registering as a donor.

I have set a fundraising target of £600. This means £1 for each mile! I would be grateful for any amount donated. It would mean so much for such a special charity!
Keep an eye out for various events I have planned throughout the year!
