Story
Meningitis took Oliver Hall's life; a clever, lovable brother and son. He experienced symptoms that were simply disregarded by doctors. Oliver's condition deteriorated over night and so he was taken to hospital. By the time he arrived, he was already in septic shock. Oliver died with 24 hours after contracting Meningitis B.
Oliver was 6 years old. His last words being 'I love you dadda'.
This is just one of thousands of examples of meningitis taking lives. Most of these being young lives. Meningitis affects predominately babies, children and teenagers, with 90% dying within 24 hours of contracting the infection.
Meningitis can also lead to limb loss, hearing loss, blindness, kidney failure and epilepsy.
Next summer I will be travelling to Tanzania and completing a 6 day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money and awareness for The Meningitis Research Foundation.
Please donate as little or as much as you can. This is such an amazing charity that helps fund research for meningitis, trains health professionals and raises awareness around this fatal infection.
Anything is greatly appreciated. Thank you
