I am FINALLY running the London Marathon!!! It has been a long and challenging journey to get here and a slightly mad idea at the same time.!I have chosen to run for the incredible and unique school that I have been teaching at for four years, Beecroft Garden Primary.

The school’s charitable foundation, FOBS, directly subsidises the brutal funding cuts that are robbing the children of the opportunities and experiences that they deserve. There are many great causes to choose from, but this one is closest to my heart.

This is not like other sponsorship requests where organisations spend half the money on admin and marketing. Every penny raised will be immediately put towards essential classroom supplies and a low-cost educational trip for each child this summer term.

Marathon preparation is extremely hard and the physical endurance and strain are like nothing I have experienced. Each day the training gets tougher and the pain more intense, but I am motivated by knowing that it will be worth it. That I will put a smile on each child’s face.

I love my job and I love these children. With my determination and your generosity, please help me to show them that things can and will get better.
