Story

My daughter Cara and I are taking on the Super 60 Challenge for World Autism Acceptance Week.

Cara is aiming to walk 6,000 steps, per day for 6 days, and I plan to join my colleagues on a walk from Beverley to Hornsea.

Our reason for doing this is that people with autism are often misunderstood, especially in schools and other educational settings.

The National Autistic Society do brilliant work not just for individuals with the condition but for the families who also face challenges in care and support.

By taking on these challenges and raising awareness, we hope to show that individuals with autism are just like those without the condition - capable of doing extraordinary things.

That is why donations of any size will be greatly appreciated and could make a huge difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page is equally important for the cause.

Thank you for reading.
