Story
What are we doing?
Jumping out of a plane from 10,000 feet and free falling at 120mph (!!) to raise money, and awareness, for Mind.
When are we doing it?
(Conditions permitting) Friday 12th August
Why are we doing it?
As Funeral Directors, we work closely with people at some of the most difficult times in their lives, and we know how challenging these times can be - and the longer lasting impact that grief can have on someone's mental health.
I think it's safe to say that we're both quite nervous about the idea of jumping out of a plane for the first time! But Mind is all about overcoming barriers and finding strength at difficult times; and that is why we have chosen to skydive to raise money for their cause - overcoming our own fears to raise money and attention for the great work that they do, and the brilliant cause they represent.
Mind
Every year, one in four people will experience difficulties with their mental health.
For decades mental health has been under-reported and under-funded. It’s an issue that people still find difficult to talk about, despite the fact that it can affect any one of us at any time.
Mind is a fantastic charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding for mental health, and the numerous difficulties that so many of us face on a daily basis.
But, Mind believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone; they'll listen and provide support and advice whenever needed.
They believe that everyone with a mental health problem should be able to access excellent care and services. - and that everyone should be treated fairly, positively and with respect.
The work Mind does is really important; especially in the unprecedented, challenging times we've all experienced over the last couple of years.
Please give generously, if you are able.
