Katy's Skydive

The Big Jump · 27 April 2019
In October 2019 I will be jumping out of an aeroplane! This is something I’ve been planning for about two years now and I’ve finally worked up the courage to take that leap of faith- quite literally!
My skydive represents recovery from an eating disorder that I first developed over three years ago, when I was thirteen. I know firsthand and through the experiences of the amazing people I’ve met on my journey that eating disorders are incredibly lonely, scary and destructive. Without the exceptional support I’ve received from services, from friends and from school I wouldn't be here today- so I want to say a massive thank you to you if you’re one of those people, and of course to my family as well.
I’m doing this jump to raise money for an amazing charity and any donation could go a long way in helping Beat to provide help to other sufferers and their families. Beat’s aim is to end the pain and suffering caused by these serious mental illnesses, which they do by offering helplines, one to one web chats, support groups and more. These cannot operate without donations from supporters.
Please help me in my aim to raise at least £500 for Beat, because there’s more to life than an eating disorder and recovery IS possible.
