This charity is particularly close to my heart due to my dad being one of the original founders who set up this charity. He dedicated his life to the charity and helped many disabled children and adults overcome their communication difficulties through the use of assistive technology and software. Unfortunately, following months of mysterious illnesses and tests my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the age of 60 and sadly lost his brave battle 10 months later. Even during the toughest time of his cancer journey he continued to work on projects for the charity. In memory of my father and to raise much needed funds for ACE as well as organising a charity ball I am running the London Marathon in 2015. My dad ran the race the year I was born (1983) so I thought it would be good to run in his memory ( and try and beat his time....;-) and for his charity. I am hoping the charity ball and sponsorship raises funds to help me reach my fundraising target of £2k. If we can get a higher target that would be amazing!!
