Cycling the Portuguese Camino · 9 August 2016

As Sussex Cricket’s charitable arm, our aim is to actively change lives through cricket across the community. We use the game to deliver accessible and enjoyable opportunities that grow the sport, tackle inequalities, improve health and wellbeing and enable people to fulfil their potential.

Story

I made it! 620km cycled across Portugal and Spain (blogged all the way at http://katycamino.wordpress.com) - and now I'm on another mission, to raise more sponsorship! Thank you so much to all my sponsors - and here's hoping I can get it up to £2,000 for a cause that is very close to my heart (you know what I'm like about cricket...!).

In a nutshell, over 10 days I cycled (alone) a traditional 'Camino' pilgrimage route), wending my way north from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela (singing in churches along the way - an ancient song that would have been sung en route by generations of pilgrims in the Middle Ages).

It was a wonderful and challenging trip - and any contributions towards what is a really excellent cause would be hugely appreciated. You can read more about Sussex Cricket Foundation's work here: http://sussexcricketfoundation.co.uk

A trip that combines cycling, singing and (fundraising for) cricket: what could be better?!
