Story
Much to my (and my mother's) horror, I turn 30 in 2011. So I thought I needed to do something big to mark the occasion - like climbing a big old mountain. So in September 2011 I'll be digging out my old DofE kit and climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. Which, at 5895m, is a good 1800m higher than my previous pb.
2011 also marks a rather sadder anniversary - 10 years since the death of my good friend Gill as a result of type 1 diabetes. Since 2006 I've raised over £5000 for JDRF. By November 2011 I want to raise another £5000, bringing the total up to £10,000.
Because, aside from being my employer, JDRF is a fantastic organisation which funds world class research into the cure, prevention and treatment of type 1 diabetes and its complications.
But I can't do that without your help. Everyone has been so kind supporting my previous fundraising endeavors but please dig deep and give as much as you can.
I'm covering the costs of the trip myself so all the money you donate will go direct to the charity.
Thank you for your support.
