Walk For World Lupus Day · 10 May 2014 ·

The Hibbs Lupus Trust was founded by the Hibbs family, born out of a personal journey with lupus and a desire to create meaningful change. Support is at the heart of everything we do. For those navigating the challenges of lupus, we provide a compassionate community and practical resources.

Story

An amazing team of 11 family and friends are walking to raise Lupus Awareness. When I was diagnosed 14 years ago I had never heard of Lupus. It was a very frightening time, not knowing what the future held for me and how to deal with it. By donating to The Hibbs Lupus Trust you will be enabling them to carry on their fantastic work supporting Lupus patients and their families.

Many thanks to Andy, Robyn and Joe Lockley, Cheryl, Nick, Natasha and Jess Barry, Adam Boulton,  Helen,  Lily and Jack Jones who are all taking on the 5 mile challenge,  unfortunately this is something I am unable to do myself.

Lupus is an autoimmune condition in which the bodies defence mechanism begins to attack itself through an excess of antibodies in the blood stream, causing inflammation and damage in the joints, muscles and other organs. There is currently no cure and Lupus is managed by medication borrowed from other conditions, as yet there are no medications designed specifically for Lupus.
