UPDATED 17th July 2021
Buster and Kay started their virtual walk from Lands End to John O’Groats on 1st May 2020. It was to be a Covid walk to keep Buster and Kay fit. Kay has arthritis in both knees and at nearly 11 Buster was getting on a bit. It was decided that if the walk was to be done then a charity needed to benefit. We decided on K9FOCUS which is the charity that rescued Buster and found him a home with Kay. So Kay and Buster plodded on into 2021. There were hiccups along the way, Kay’s legs were troublesome and sometimes the weather was just too awful but nevertheless the walk continued and kind sponsors got our fund going.
Then in July 2021 disaster struck. After noticing Buster was weeing more than usual, a visit to the vet and various tests showed Buster has fairly advanced kidney failure. He has been in for IV fluids to flush his body of the toxins his kidneys can no longer remove but we don’t know how long he will be with us. It is devastating news, but Buster and I are determined to complete our walk and raise a lot of money for K9Focus. There can be no better legacy for Buster from this his last walk. We thank all of you for your support.
