When Emily was at Junior School she wrote that one of her personal ambitions was to canoe across the English Channel. She is now 14 years old and we are realising that dream in August this year when we aim to paddle 28 arduous miles from Dungeness to Boulogne across the busiest shipping lane in the world, negotiating tides, currents and waves.

Nene Valley Care Trust (NVCT)

This small charity is aiming to make a big difference to the lives of young people leaving local authority care post 16. It supports them through the process of finding work by providing local mentors and subsequently encouraging those who have succeeded in gaining jobs to support others still in care. Such young people are a neglected group and need our support urgently.
