I never thought I could run. Ever. I have hated running my entire life. Then just before Christmas 2020, I decided to take part in Santa Dash - 12 days of Christmas and ran every day for 12 days, starting at 1km building up to 5km.
I thought that was it. But oh no, I joked that yes now I have run 5k I could easily run a marathon! Well Steph Talbot picked up on this and decided if I could do a marathon a half marathon would be a piece of cake. I laughed; I did not think she was serious. But quite clearly it was no joke.
So, for the past 6 months I have been training with my amazing friend and coach Charlotte Foster to get me Potters Arf ready. I am not going to lie, it has been hard, I have run when I really did not want to, I have run when its rained, when I’ve had a crazy busy day and felt like I haven’t got an ounce of strength left but not matter what I’ve run.
I will do this challenge, I have put my heart and soul into it, so please help me reach my target because at the heart of this challenge is a goal to raise money for families in Stoke and Newcastle. I have seen first-hand the immense poverty in this area, I have seen families struggle through no fault of their own and the amazing work that Alice Charity does truly helps to lessen the burdens they are faced with.
